Here's the thing. You're already as "fundamentally" bonded to your kids as you're going to get... of course you can renew your bonds in the future, but from now till then, all you really have to do is sit back and be available to them! Let them know you are always behind them to support them, but DON'T try to bond with them----- let THEM bond with YOU !!! If you try to bond with him long distance it won't work... But this may just be a matter of semantics, all you have to do is spray a little water on that initial bond by letting them know you love them and you've got their backs!!
